I just finished putting together my first short barrelled shotgun project so I thought I'd throw a coupe pics up.

I decided I "needed'' a short shotgun a couple months ago. It turned into a great excuse to equip the shop with a few tools and burn a bunch up a bunch of hrs in it. I started with an old wingmaster I picked up on the EE. A bit of luck resulted in the wood I was looking for project. A call to Dlask put my name on a 14'' barrel threaded for chokes. While I waited for the barrel I stripped the wood and applied 12 coats of hand rubbed tung oil. I shortened the stock to allow for the new grind to fit limbsaver. LOP is 13 1/4''. The bolt was polished. When the barrel showed up I sandblasted all the metal parts and sprayed on some gloss black Arma-coat. A 1/2 hr in the oven and everything was ready to go back together. I'm pretty happy with it. Hope you guys enjoy a small bit of poorly photographed shot gun ####.

Thank you! I do like the look of a nice piece of walnut. Most of my bolt guns have synthetics but there's something about a short shotgun in wood furniture.

Looks excellent! I have an 870 Police glossy blued...thinking about putting an extension on it but don't know of any that are glossy blued in finish. :(

Thanks! I'm still loving the way it turned out. I've been stewing over a +1 extension but I'm not into refinishing it to match. It will probably wait until I do the gun over again.
