I just pick up a project shotgun for the gun show that needs a butt stock replacement. On the sides by the hammers it reads WESTERN ARMS CO. and the other side THE INTERCHANGEABLE.

On the bottom of the barrel by the chamber it has a ovel with crown on top and E over LG inside. A 12 over a C or G inside a diamond ( the gauge ?)

On bottom
S.P.I. 14416, ( serial no. ?)
305
choke 18.0 (on one barrel)
18.2 (on the other )
AO over a CI inside a circle ( inspection stamp ?)
and more stamps squiggly lines and small stars

On top

WARRANTED GOVERNMENT TEST

My question is: Is the model THE INTERCHANGEABLE ?
I can post some pics if that would help

I managed to get real lucky and find a stock on E-BAY. It has a small piece missing but I can patch it up with a piece from the existing broken stock. all I need now is the trigger guard and to find out more about it whether it was made for black or smokeless powder.

Here are some pics of the proof marks

The proof marks are of Belgian origin and indicate black powder proof only. The crown over the circle with the letters ELG is the black powder proof.

The Belgian nitro proof mark is a crown over the letters P.V., which is not found on these barrels.

The chambers are likely 2 1/2".
