So I was at the range on Saturday, dialling in the scope on my .22. After getting it zero'd, I shot an 8 shot group a bit larger than a dime.
This was at only 25 yards, leaning over a bench and using a front bag.
Then I tried another 10 shot group, same distance, but using a hasty sling, still leaning over a bench. I was surprised to see 7 of the shots in a dime sized group, with 3 shots that I probably pulled - the three were all left and low and inch or so from the good grouping.
I expected to shoot much more poorly without using a front bag. I definitely noticed a lot more wobble and wandering of the front muzzle, but it was less than I expected.
It was nice to see my accuracy didn't completely go to garbage after a few months of not shooting.
