Now I don’t want to come across as a suck but if I go out bow hunting for bear am I allowed taking a rifle with me for better protection. I want to start hunting these animals with bow, but don't want to come face to face with one with just a bow. Especially after all the bear attacks we had last year. Thanks for your help!

I don't see why you couldn't. There is no set archery season for bear. It's just one general season. Therefore you could tote whatever you wanted.

CTS,

I do believe the regs here in MB allow you take a firearm along if you are hunting with a bow. Bear is a "general" season so a firearm or bow could be used. I searched the regs and the closest I could find is this

"While hunting big game during an archery only season, a hunter may not possess any other device that may be used to kill big game."

I think you'd be OK. Send them DNR an email an ask to be sure.

Well I e-mailed Manitoba conservation/wildlife and this is the response they gave me

As long as you are not hunting in an "Archery Only" game hunting area
(34A and 34B), you can carry a rifle for protection.

So looks like i'm good to go!! Thanks for your help everyone.
