Anyone else like myself have trouble switching from A-Max to Eld-M? I have a sendero SF2 in 7 mag that would shoot A-Max 162's .25 moa all day same load no matter what powder lot #,fire formed or full length sized brass. I recently put a new scope on that rifle and after zeroing with my pet load and shooting some truly boner inspiring groups at 1 and 300 meters I returned home to load up more thinking I still had a box or two in my Stache but I guess I don't. I picked up some Eld-M's and went to work but can't seem to replicate the previous performance of the old A-Max, also had similar results with the ELd-x bullets when those came out.

I use the 52gr .224 A-Max in my 700VS. It shoots them really well. When the ELD line came out, my LGS was selling off their A- Max stock for $20/100. I cleaned them out and have 1000 rounds. Will last me for several years. I haven't tried the new, more expensive ELD's yet.

The 162 Amax is a good bullet. It's not that old so you should still be able to find some in some hoarders reloading room. Put a wtb in the EE reloading section and see what happens. I preferred them wrt to accuracy to the eldx as well

I've had great results with the 162gr ELDm in my 280 Ackley. Typically between 0.5 and 0.75moa 5 shot from a hunting rifle. One group in my notes put 4/5 shots in 0.15moa at 100y with IMR 4955
