A moose that didnt make it through hunting season...

A good friend of mine works for CNRL here in Calgary and she sent me these pics tonight. Dont know if the details are true or not yet, the interweb is full of surprises

From the email she sent me:

Here is a moose that died at CNRL's 4-26 Ladyfern. The operator found
the moose on Sunday morning Oct 01/06. The bull was snagged in the chain off of the valve .

I was having the same thoughts . Maybe there should be a chain link fence around that well site.

Not many sites are chained off I've noticed from fly overs. How often are sites checked?
That's a terrible way to go.

Bummer. Brutal way to go.

I work for an oil/gas company and the only time we ever put up fences is when there are cattle around. Even then, we usually just put up those low to the ground cattle guards.

I found a cow that had caught her leg in a buffalo fence when jumping over with her calf. She broke her shoulder thrashing around in the fence before dying, and the poor calf was caught in the pen with the buffalo watching a bear and coyotes/crows etc eat it's mother.

What a sin! Poor thing... I'm all for hunting but that's just CRUEL! And so avoidable... grrrr
