Hello all,

Just got a Beretta P-71 and the slide is locked open. I can't seem to be able to close it. Any advise? I've tied everything. Maybe I will have to bring it to a gunsmith already?

Check around to see if it has a magazine interlock that requires the magazine to be in place before the slide lock will release? Did you get an operator's manual with it or can you find one online?

The slide lock is similar to a 1911, located above the leading edge of the left grip, pull down while pulling back on the slide.

THEY ARE GREAT LITTLE

They are great shooters. A little fussy on ammo. The original mags have a pinky rest. After markets do not. I like mine but it has a 6in barrel on it. I would love to cut the barrel down to 4.25. They are single action Take down is like most Berettas They were built with two barrels. One Prohip and the other not. Great shooter to add to your collection

Glad it was something simple and easily fixed. I wish more issues were simply due to stuff like that. I could live with the number of "blond moments" if it meant a lot less work.... :D

Guys, read the "sig line" below the "little bit" title. He spells it out.
