A new Savage 10FP???

They also are available with McMillan stocks, I would like to shoot one and compare it to a LTR which I don't like at all. The LTR stock (glorified hunting stock) and those useless flutes... I have a H-S Precision STR and there is no comparison as far as accuracy goes between that rifle and the Remington. The H-S routinely shoots 1/2 moa and sometimes better if I don't screw up however the Rem is a moa to 1.5 moa gun, mine anyway. The STR has a more beefy stock and is adjustable for height and lop and also a match grade stainless cut rifled barrel vs the chrome moly mass produced factory barrel on the Rem. Savage has a good reputation for accurate guns and I would like to get a McMillan stocked one and see how it fares againt the H-S.

Savage are already both available with H-S Precision and McMillan stocks. I have rifles with both HS and McMillan stocks(HS HTR, HS STR and custom Rem w/ McMillan A-5). The A-5 is the most comfortable stock I have ever used. I wouldn't get bent out of shape over this new stock.

2nd that ... this would be a great .223 rifle :)

Savage 10FP 24" 308 WIN

So, i read that Savage 10FP 308 WIN has a 24" HB.

i have shot a Remington LTR (20" HB) and it kicked a great deal! and of course, i don't like it that much later...

Even though i have not shot a Remington 700P with a 26" HB, i think i would shoot comfortably with it, because i have shot the long barrels No.1 and No.4 enfields, K98s and Mosin Nagant 91/30's, etc, and i like them all!

so, what kind of recoil we are talking about from a Savage 10FP with a 24" HB? you think i am going to like it?

I had a look at an accustock savage at Cabelas the other day. I was impressed, it is very rigid.

I think I'm going to trade up from my 10FP LE1A 20" to this PC model sometime soon.

Looks cool, I like the stock design, though not sure about the ACU colours. Good in some environments for sure.

I do like the detachable magazine feature though.. Always wanted to add one to my LTR but didn't want to spend the huge money on a Badger kit.

I think Savage has a winner here. I'd be interested in the .223 version for a future .300 Whisper project.
