I got this from weimajack here and everything was more than pleased and actually he don't even mind go thru the hassle on holding this rifle for me after the holidays (was away with the family to Florida during x'mas) and shipping was in a timely manner (actually same morning after he received my money order).

I have nothing but positive commend about him and very pleased to purchase this hard to find (pretty sure its the last batch of all Norinco M305) from him.

I guess I will not be able to make it to Barrie for Hungry's clinic this Saturday but definitly will show up in February Burlington one.

Will see you guys there!

btw: how to look for those hidden numbers on the receiver? I remember someone mentioned before they are below the stock line.

I see no whitish mold on yours, only some other spots but probably cosmo grease. Mine took more cleaning but the stock is now refinised, metal parts sprayed with G96 and the whole package smells really nice now.

As far as going into the dishwasher........shhh......................wait till the wife is not home.......probably send her out shopping with my son then I might be able to "Borrow" that dishwasher:D:D:D...............otherwise the laundry tub will be my best friend.

Since our mini van is kind of dirty do you guys think strapping the stock on the hood and go thru those touchless car wash will work??????:eek:

I know everybody use the dishwasher method and I am trying to put together a real "Washer" method by putting the stock with my laundry into the "Washer" (cloth washing machine)!:eek::eek::eek:

What do you guys think about this one:D:D:D?

Mine wasn't covered in cosmoline, just lots of oil so I didn't have to go through this dishwasher ordeal. Not worth the risk....I still get nightmares after seeing those pictures. I just used a small basin, a paint brush, kerosene and rags. I got it really clean and just applied some remmy gun grease and the action is soooooo smooth. The stock is another matter but I got it under control and it now looks reasonable.

Actually, I aware about that thread and to be honest I don't think I will use the dishwasher even just for the stock because if my wife ever find out you guys will probably see me in the headline news the next morning (LOL).


I am hoping to disassemble the whole thing and clean the comso / grease etc on the barrelled action this weekend and will decide what to do to the stock after its apart.

Most likely will just degrease it first and will decide if a USGI fiberglass is require that's why I am just not ready to go to the Barrie clinic this Saturday but for sure in February in Burlington.

Do you mind to post some pics on what your stock looks like? If you have the before and after pics will be great!

As for the clinic, this is the best time to partake in the clinic. This is where you can learn so much, what you need to replace, what you don't need to replace. I don't really plan to do any mods there but i sure want to learn as much as I can about my rifle. Join the clinic as soon as you can so "yer #### don't fall off", as one famous philosopher once put it.....(sorry Hungry, I had to use it).:D

Your rifle looks good after the cleaning?

Although mine doesn't have the white residue on the surface but the stock is very oily I would say its soaked in oil / preservative or something.

Is your comes with the universal tool?

I've check mine briefly it has a cleaning rod and something in the butt plate and I haven't explore what the heck is in there because l want to strip it down give it a clean before playing with it anymore.

Have you check yours whether your flash hider is welded on or not?

Why is that most people wants to change the flash hider?Anything wrong with the stock one?

Yeah, I am prepared to go to the Burlington clinic because I'm afraid if I don't get let Hungry lay his hands on my rifle "My d..k will fall off":D

You guys are gonna love that clinic. I learned a pile o' stuff from Hungry. Plus its fun to put faces to the names you see here in CGN all the time.

I'm taking mine to the range tomorrow to try out the new scope.
Shooting American Eagle FMJ 150gr.

Mine came complete with everything that was promised: 3 mags (one that looks like 20 round mag), the stock butt contains cleaning kit (I wouldn't use it personally), some container with oil/grease, and the universal tool. My only problem is that one of the short mags doesn't lock in the gun. I have to really jam it in but then I really have pull hard to get it out. I suppse since Marstar offere warranty, I am going to send it back to get a replacement mag). Now, I am going to shoot it this week and then attend Burlington clinic at the end of February. I am so excited :dancingbanana:
 
I suppose some people want to get the flash hider off because some want to install a new one, some want to shorten the barrel and some want to fiddle with gas system and I for that I suppose you need the flash hider off. I was reading here how problematic this can be so unless mine is really crooked and deflects bullets, I am going to leave it where and as it is. I am thinking of some better wooden stock for mine (I like the look of wood) but if it costs too much, I will leave the mystery chicom wood, at least for now. I also have a bit of a problem with the rear sight, I can't get it to work. I have to loosen the screw onthe right side but then the left knob is completely loose. WHen I tighten the right screw so the left knob is reasonably tight, then the left one won't move at all. Perhaps I am doing something wrong as I have no experience with these types of sights at all.

Nah! Before the Tru-oil treatment, I already cleaned it up a bit so it wouldn't soil my brand new carpet in my brand new finsihed basement. In the second series of pics, the gun is so clean I would take it to bed with me.
 
Paper towels and elbow grease ..... I just don't see the point of the dishwasher method .... Besides, that wood has a beautiful look as it is ...
