A pretty typical refurbed No1Mk3* (How I wish I had Bobfortier's skills and patience)

Hi everyone,

Well it's been a few months since I worked at refurbing a No1Mk3; I have been slowed down by an Enfield P14 and other rifles like that. So got a pick up the pace again :D

This one is an Enfield-built, 1917-dated No1Mk3*. Got it last year as a barreled action with trigger guard. I've been working on it for the past month.

Hope it'll behave decently at the range,

Lou

Thanks guys, much appreciated.

I'll have one or two other SMLE under way soon, plus a project that I've promised I'd do for CGN member Gary D about a year ago, a LEC... (Lee Enfield Carbine) that one will get pictures of the whole process.

Is that an Ishy stock with the recoil band installed like in a no4 stock? did you sand it down to fit flush where it meets the rear stock band? or did you leave it stepped out a bit? i've got one that im working on, the orig was flush but the ishy stock sits out over an 1/8 of an inch, Im a bit hesitant to attack it with sand paper

thanks!
