not sure were to post this...but hunting was the start of it...
hey all:cool: i need some advice...
after a weekend of shooting a #### load of guns..
my nephew was a green horn in joining us....
he liked shooting my 7600 remmy...
so me being thedumb arse i am...i tossed him a lonnie...i told him the day he can put a hole in that lonnie..at 50 yards..i would give him the gun..
so what do you,s think?am i asking to much of him?or will he take my gun from me before i know it:eek:
 
If he's equal to your challenge, guess what.
That's right live up to your promise, and help the young lad along.
Never put something on the line your not willing to part with.

Glad you guys had a good time. And it is great to see "Future Hunter " out there having fun!

BTW what the heck happened to Dumbdawg??? Haven't heard a word from him since he came home...( are ya's planning on going again soon? ) :D :D ;)
 
That's the way to do it.....make him work for it. If he can do it, you have done a fine thing and he will be confident in the rifle he has...win-win situation for both of you. Good job

when he hits the lonnie...it will be from a bullet from a bullet from you... i will even make him make the round:D

You made the commitment, it is your responsibilty to live up to it!

Can you tell us some more about your nephew? And what did the parents say when they heard about it!! That is a story I would like to hear!:D :D :D
 
I'm one of the parents Gibbs and this is what I had to say...

I think.. I should have went with ya's I may have added a new rifle to my collection LOL!

( but seriuosly, I know Fogducker, he is an amazing person , he wants to see younger people out there and Dumbdawg and I are very happy "Future Hunter" has an interst. ) Not only that, I know Dumbdawg ( the other parent , lol) is very proud of his son! It's great to see!

the dad of the nephew was there ..when i made the deal. in fact i gave him the loonie i told him ..when you pock a hole in it that i witness ..the gun is yours.. a few other gun nutz we met this weekend. got to witness all..
as to the nephew...he is a member here now...:D try and bribe the info from him..
his room name be futurehunter;) ask him of all the guns he got to shoot this weekend. ask him what he thought of cleaning a road kill..even ask him of the quad.. he got to put a few miles on...thanks to a fellow member here ...triton ..

i would say he had a full weekend of learning tons...as to did he have fun? yuppers:) he neaver shut up all the way home..
 
if i can nail a dime at 500 yds will you give me a gun ? lol J/K
i garuntee your out a gun but at least its worth it good luck to you FutureHunter
and we here (the Mrs and i) are looking forward to seeing pics of his next hunt with his "NEW Rifle"
i got 20$ says Future Hunter out shoots fogducker on the range and in the field by next deer season lol
 
Hey, fogducker, you're going to give him the clip that doesn't keep falling out, right? :p The reason I ask is because he'll be owning that rifle very soon... ;)
 
It was a great weekend. Thanks fellas! I think the young lad had a ball. He sure has a will to learn! I think we all had almost as much fun as he did, just watching him.

Since it is your gun, ensure you "tweak" the sights just a bit prior to his loonie attempt.:D

And yes, I am an evil prick.;)
 
well i was just playing with some reloading stuff here:) ...i came across two full boxes of 165 grain bullets..so what i have in mind;)
i am going to make him earn this gun...
i have some 4350 powder and a crap load of 165 grain bullets... now all gun nutz get to have a say here and make up that special receipe,for futurehunter,to make up his own reloads;)
i just figure ;) if he is old enough to get his pal..he is old enough to make up his own rounds..

so receipe ideas all?
