I have been using this stuff but was wondering after using it for resizing brass and then doing your trimming do you throw the brass back into the tumbler to remove it ,,,,,or does it even have to be removed before putting in new primers, powder, and projectiles? It doesn't seem like it should be an issue since they even show you on one of the Hornady you tubes to use their One Shot rifle cleaner and dry lube on the powder dispenser before using it to remove any packing grease, etc. so it doesn't appeat that it affects the powder in any way.

After resizing, I just wipe them down with an old t-shirt, then chamfer, deburr and load. Make sure you shake the can periodically, some guys have reported stuck cases. I've never had an issue.

Hornady makes One Shot case lube and One Shot Gun Cleaner with DynaGlide Plus. It is my understanding you wipe the gun cleaner off to clean the firearm but the case lube is to dry before sizing, meaning there is nothing to wipe off.

There are two schools of thought in AR15 forums, ether you run your AR15 "wet" or use dry film lubes like the One shot gun cleaner. I'm cheep and old fashioned, I make my own case lube and run my AR15s wet with CLP or home made "Bug Juice".

This is a formula called "Bug Juice" and I got the mix off the internet for running "wet" and clean and change my oil when I get home. ;)

One Shot® Spray Case Lube 5 Oz w/Dyna Glide Plus

The most popular lube on the market

One Shot Case Lube is the most popular reloading cartridge and tool lubricant in the market, because; Case Lube is a dry film “Boundary” lubricant that is non-hazardous, does not contaminate powders or primers, and the “DynaGlide”™ technology exceeds US Military & NATO load carrying capacity requirements by 6 times. Precision shooters appreciate One Shot Case Lube’s clean, non-sticky, quick and easy application when loading large volumes of rounds at a time. The flexible all-purpose dry film lubricant use on their other reloading tools is a major bonus.

Lube entire blocks of cases in one shot. Dries in minutes. One Shot is a non-petroleum product that will not contaminate powder or primers.

Features:

• Improves tool and die performance and extends service life.
• A high speed “micro penetrating”, high pressure dry film.
• Will not contaminate powder or primers.
• Evenly distributes lubricant over the entire case (won’t creep or migrate).
• DynaGlide Plus® prevents tarnish, which in turn reduces drag on case extraction and helps prevent scoring/scratching damage
• Offers advantages in critical match load accuracy.
• Eliminates the paste lubing mess.
• Improves ejection and reduces scoring and scratching of cases.
• Minimizes jamming problems in semi-automatic firearms.
• Works great for lubricating presses and other equipment

P.S. When all else fails read the directions.

I don't use one shot anymore as I found the performance to be not so consistent.
Sometimes it was ok, sometimes it was very sticky....
One night after lubing it was super nice, the next day I still had brass to process, it was terribly sticky.
I personally don't like it.

I put the brass in a large plastic container, spray a minimal amount of lanolin mixed in alcohol, shake, touch the brass, and spray again if needed.

All I want is a VERY LITTLE feeling of lube on the brass.
Then I just load it all, and after the ammo is loaded, I just toss it in a tshirt, spray some 99% alcohol on the rounds, shake a little in the t shirt, and all lube is gone.

When I say very little lube, I mean very little. Almost no lube.
Makes a huge difference vs dry brass, works better than one shot, and it's not sticky, and it's easy to clean.

Just my point of view.

I do the same for 223, but I spray it a lot more, and after sizing and trimming, I toss it all again in the wetSS tumbler to remove lube.

I love One Shot Gun Cleaner and Dry Lube. It is made for cleaning and lubricating firearms and your reloading presses.

I hate Hornady One Shot Case Lube and I wouldn't recommend it for anything.
