I recently bought some brand new PPU 7.65mm (32 auto) Parabellum FMJ 93gr, 6,0g ammo. I was hoping to shoot it in my Mauser Hsc and CZ Model 27, but I was surprised to see this ammo was a bit longer then my other 7.65mm (32 auto). It will not go into the magazines for these 2 guns. Its too long. What am I missing here? Is there a 7.65mm long and short?

From your description, you purchased 7.65Long or 32 S&W Long.

They will not only be longer, the rim diameter will be slightly larger than the case diameter.

There were both semi autos and revolvers made for that ammo.

I do not own a handgun for these, so went looking on google - what a large number of cartridges with similar name! Not certain if PPU makes all of these - I probably missed several, but found references to 7.65x17, 7.65x20, 7.65x21, 7.65x38 and I do own a couple Argentine rifles chambered for 7.65x53

Mmmmmm 7.65x53 or a 308Win (almost) with a bit of extra case capacity using .311-.312 diameter bullets and at one time considered to be the best bang for the buck by several South American nations, such as Argentina/Peru/Venezuela, as well as South African Boers and European nations like Belgium.

It's been chambered in everything from 1891 Mausers to 1898 Mausers and even a few commercial firearms.

Excellent cartridge.

I had a 308Win on a Remington 700SA with a large chamber, mostly up in the shoulder and neck area.

Brian Oldfield had a 7.65x53 reamer and we cleaned out the chamber, whithout removing the barrel.

Brian wanted to show me how it was done.

I used the 7.65x53 die set but swapped out the expander ball for the .3075.

In a modern rifle, this cartridge really has a significant edge over the 308Win, with 180+ grain bullets.

Sorry OP, don't want to derail your thread.
