A question for the .38 super guys

Hi to all.

It has been a long time since I shot a match but I still shoot, at least.

I am finally running down my supply of lead and powder, so time to restock.

With a compensator, would you recommend a lighter (124 gr) or heavier (160 gr) bullet? Or mid range with 140 or 147 grain?


Secondly, I am on my last bag of IMR 4756 so time to change powders as well. A quick search here shows 3N38 to be the more favoured powder...but those posts were a couple years ago. Any thoughts on preferred powder with the bullet weights mentioned???

I used the Campro 121 grains bullet and 3N38. Very easy to make the 160 PF.
Starline Supercomp brass.

Now I am on 9 mm major with the same components, except the brass - mixed.
