A question for those who have bolted a red dot to their Vz 58 hand guard.

when i had my trs on my nea handguard i didnt really check , most of the shooting was made under 50 yards and fast but was enough to blow up the jug

I can't see it being too good if you attach it to the sloppy original vz handguard. I just put a fab polymer guard mine and slapped on a cheap utg red dot and it is pretty solid. The fit is real tight. I haven't fired it yet but I think it will be fine.

How did it work for you? Does it hold zero?

My hand guard is extremely tight. The pin has to punched in and out. It seems that my TRS holds zero very well. I've disassembled the top to clean the piston 8 or 9 times. Everytime I put it back together, it is zeroed very close. Keep in mind that the VZ is no sniper rifle. When I say zero, with this rifle, I mean 4 inch groups at 100m.

My VZ has the FAB Defense furniture.

No issue losing zero on my Corwin Arms aluminum front handguard. Just recently swapped to a Zahal side mount system but have not had a chance to test it out yet. I certainly like the mount over the dust cover better than front hand guard from playing with it in the house but have not fired yet nor tested for holding zero after cleaning.

yeah I just put the low profile receiver side mount on my vz too, haven't had a chance to try it out either yet. I have the fab hand guards on mine they fit really well ,I think a red dot mounted on there should work pretty well too.

I have a fab defense kit with a 4 moa trijicon rmr. Good enough to hit a gong at 200 yards. Keeps the rifle really light and quite handy. Cant wait for this baby to be reclassified as NR. By far my favourite rifle.
Works perfect, give me sec I'll put a picture of my setup!

That's a nice set up but that's not a factory hand guard, which is what I meant. Sorry for not specifying sooner. I'm wondering how the factory hand guard holds up for bolting on a red dot.

Btw, is that a Cz?

shotgunnut, it would be a horrible idea, i think the hand guard on a vz is worse then a sks, and sks ones are #### hahahaha. I wouldn't bother trying, there is just way to much play. id go out and buy the fab defense setup which is reasonably priced, file it down to fit your rifle and you have a snug fit that never going to go anywhere
