A question on my first "precision rifle"

Well not sure how precise it is as I havent got to shoot it yet!

Just resently got a 700 Tactical and I went with a Vortex Diamondback as my first optic, in the instructions it states to mount the scope as low as possible.

Is this to low? Everything clears but just by a little bit. I was hoping to mount some of those buttler creek flip covers but I dont think there would be clearance in the front.

I have cut covers on the bottom to clear the barrel . It works and if you do it right you will not see the cut .nice rifle .

Looks good! I'd trim the bottom of the cover, as suggested.

Mine is damn close too, had to dremel the bottom of the butler creek cover in front to clear.

I've done the same. As long as you see light its all good.

Die grind the barrel, then you can fit on any cover you want.
