A quick question for Mosin owners with a tape measure.

I asking for somebody to get the tape measure out for me. I would like to know the length of a Mosin Nagant barrel, bolt face to muzzle.

And also the outside diameter at the muzzle?

I have a cunning plan.....

Mine measures 730 mm,measured with a wooden dowel down the barrel.

Measured also with a wooden dowel down the barrel to bolt face; 730 mm. OS diameter in mm at muzzle: 14.80; 14.84; 14.93

Ooops,forgot the diameter at the muzzle---14.9 mm

Yes, with some care they can be fitted to a Martini action. Makes for cheaper shooting as well. Surplus 7.62x54 will require some slight relieving of the extractor but nothing to serious.

Plan A: Cut back the barrel knox, re-thread & re-chamber to .303, so you can have a relatively tight bore 303?

or

Plan B: Re-thread the Mosin to 1" x 14 N.S. & fit it to a #4?

I vote for Plan A.
