I have purchased this book and am into it having finished 100+ pages. It is a great book to read. For one thing the author, an American, praises Canada and Canada's war efforts. We were a great country at one time until the liberals wiped out our military etc. The USA, during that era made their military buy their own clothes and bullets, can you imagine?

Anyway a great book so far and I would recommend reading it.

Excellent book. I haven't finished my copy but it is somewhere hiding in my bedside table stack of books to read/finish. Excellent book for shooters, hunters and especially for soldiers.

I finished the book a few days ago. It is worth reading for sure. He tends to repeat things sometimes but still worth reading. I haven't started the Emma Gees book yet but will one day soon. The book is from a different time and things were different than. I think we need to know and remember where we came from to appreciate what we have. Interesting his comments about rum. The English gave the troops a shot of rum at 3:30 AM or something like this to take the edge off. The US Army was totally against this, I just looked it up, prohibition started in the USA in 1920. Looks like he got himself kicked out of the war effort after going on a bender in 1917, he doesn't relate the story in the book but states that he was loosing interest. He ended up joing the USA war effort as an instructor. He claims to have shot 100 germans while he was a sniper and it looks like he wasn't a sniper for that long, a few months only.
