Went into my gun store to pick up some 40gr Vmax varmint bullets earlier this week and came out with a Sako Fiberclass in 416 Rem Mag with a nice Burris 1.75-5 Posi-lock. Unfired as far as I can tell but sitting in the used rifle rack. :xes
These are pretty cool rifles. Tell me about yours.









 
They are one of my favorite models that Sako ever produced.
I have a workhorse AV Fiberclass in .300Win. It's the first rifle I'll grab out of the safe for any hunt despite owing numerous nicer/more expensive guns.
It clusters a hot load of 190gr Bergers into 3/4" and despite being on the heavy side handles intuitively.
Congrats that one is a beauty! Won't find too many in that condition anymore.

I have one in 7 rem mag.
I also have a minty model 70 winlite with the factory mcmillan stock in 7x57.
Straight shooting!
 
I have one in .375 Weatherby (former .375 HH) that is just fantastic.
The stock always has felt so wonderful...very accurate, and hammers the moose.
I do think it was one of their better rifles.

Yes, I agree. I had a NIB Fiberclass in 30-06 about 10 years ago that had a beautifully flat crown like the one you showed.

I regrettably sold the 30-06, but I kept this Fiberclass Handi rifle in 300WM... love the stocks on these rifles...

Congratulations on the new rifle Buckmastr - great find. The 416 REM has always intrigued me, and I'd loved to have gotten my hands on one.
 
My hunting buddy has one in 25-06. As mentioned it carries lighter than it's pickup weight. Consistent 3/4" rifle, except when the action screws worked their way loose, then it wasn't a broad side of a mule deer rifle. Several have tried to pry it from his rack, not going to happen!

You sure did! I bought the unfired 30-06 from you back then.
I couldn't bring myself to shoot it, so ended up selling it to a very happy cgn'er in Alberta.

I've only ever seen one .22-250. There was a .25-06 that just sold at a shop in ON for $1299. Gagnons has a .375H&H but they want $1899!
 
A word or warning to the harder kicking fiberclass owners.The stocks are prone to splitting as the filling in them looks like recycled dry wall dust.I have repaired a lot of them that are split. I recommend pillar bedding them and gouging out the cheesie filler and replacing it with long strand kitty hair or dura glass.That is why the action screws work loose.Otherwise one of the nicest of Sakos offerings .
 
I bought one new in .338 WM back in the 1990's. I REALLY wish I hadn't sold that rifle. It was one of the best fitting, sweetest shooting rifles I have ever owned. The fit was so good that the recoil was, dare I say, mild.
