I've been listening to the With Winning in Mind audio book for a couple years now during my drive to work and back. It's a 45 min. drive both ways in good conditions, so listening to this is a productive use of the time.

The version I had been listening to was sold as a generic version titled the same as the book that is not sold as being specific to any sport. The cover looks like this:

This is a fantastic version. It covers the stuff in the book and is presented in a clear and concise way. Lanny is well spoken and the audio quality is good. It appears to be a fairly new recording based on the raspiness of his voice.

Having listened to it dozens of times, I wanted to try another one of his audio books. So, I purchased this audio book hoping it would go into greater detail and offer additional material since it is longer in duration than the other one and sold as being specific to shooting.

I have to say that I was quite disappointed with it. It covers the same material in the same order as the audio book above, and while it does go into more detail (painfully more detail), most of the added detail is in the various anecdotes he tells and none of the additional detail really adds anything over the way he told them in the above version. The sound quality is very poor, it sounds like AM radio. I had to turn the volume up to MAX to hear it at a normal sound level. It was recorded some time around 1990. I'm guessing this based not only on the sound quality sounding like it was recorded on a cassette, but the fact that he mentions the Ben Johnson scandal that happened "in the Olympics that just passed". Lanny's speaking is not as good as in the newer version either. It sounds like he's giving a sermon or something. He has come a long way in his speaking in the newer version.

So, if you liked the book and were thinking of getting the audio version to listen to in the car. Get the one with the blue cover. It covers the same material but the presentation and sound quality is much better. It's also only $50 as a combo with What Every Rifle Shooter Should Know First About the Mental Game (which is also pretty good) vs. $135 for Mental Management for Shooting Sports which covers the same material but is incredibly painful to listen to.

I attended one of his seminars years ago. It was powerful and likely the most cost effective money
I've ever spent on anything. "pay value" and the difference between something you want and something you wish for
Is extraordinary information that I was extreamly fortunate to learn as a young man.
Is the audio book available in Apple format?
