I like the snow on the table, which shows that this video is taken well below 0C, and how matter-of-factly they just go on about their business.

Much of what we see online is taken in the southern US, so that's a bit of a difference.

He pronounces Tokareva more like Tokarewa.

Also, he has an interesting technique for reinstalling the dust cover.

During last snowfall we had boss was, hey too much snow, we are not going to work but we can go to the range if you want to :) We went and there was quite a number of people there, blasting away. Snow pants, ski masks and all :)
Guy has regular Russian pronunciation, I'm not hearing any accent. He also doesn't seem to know much about SVT, according to him SVT in the video came with 10rd mag because it's a civilian version, military mags were 15-20 rounds :)
P.S What do you mean interesting technique? How else do you install dust cover back?

I usually use something to prop the spring forward, and then lay the cover onto it.

But I suppose that if I had nothing to use for that I'd do something similar... or I'd look around until I found something.

'Had enough bolt bites already.

He didn't have to look far- 3 cartridges on the table. Pull dustcover forward, slide in cartridge. The cartridge is a tool in disassembly/ reassembly and can be also used for dropping the trigger group, pushing in the upper band release, etc? It's nice to see that people all over the world like to videotape themselves doing something poorly!

True. With them laying there there's no sense sticking your fingers in for the spring to chew on.

>videotape themselves doing something poorly

"Hey Tovarisch, hold my vodka and watch this!"

Still, the video is well framed and edited, and he put some thought into its production.

Yes, I just wish I could understand what they're saying. My adult education course in Russian I took at the U of C two years ago allows me to understand about one word in 50.

Don't worry about translation, guy in the video has no idea at all about the rifle. "Rifle for elite troops", "..made in Izhevsk in 1944", "civil mags are 10, military are 15 or 20". I stopped watching when he start fiddling with dust cover. It's so simple, it is in the manual, but yet everybody tries to come up with new ideas how to do it "properly". It's just right thumb on the guide and lift dust cover. No way spring will fly out, guides won't allow.
