A thing of beauty old meets new

I messaged this guy - he is from Canada which is pretty cool. There is an aluminium structure that lives inside it.

He also makes fancy AR grips.
 
I like the concept. Some shooters want the utility of the Chassis forend but don't like the AR style of grip.

This a nice blend of both ideas... Assume that is an MDT ESS forend tied to a wood rear... looks alot like the magpul hunter.

Personally, i don't like it at all. Different options for different folks.
Seing a Mcmillan stock with an ESS forend like this, would already be more appealing to me.
Not a wood kind of person.

He does get 10/10 for creativity.
 
I really like it, the contours of the stock around the action are new, it's definitely not a traditional design but I bet it's got good ergonomics. Being able to mount the tripod so far forward would change how it pivots to steady on target, but it does look like the barrel guard blocks the scope somewhat.
 
Myself got that forend on my chassis, it's called MDT ESS
Never knew why they designed the handguard tube, with both a scope notch and an NV rail.
The notch makes you want to sit the scope as low as possible, the NV rail seems obstructive when scope is sitting low.
 
I would stop way short of calling it beautiful but it does appear to be well done. What I don't understand is; where is the "old meets new" concept? I see a Tikka (new) mated to a chassis (new). I must be missing something.

I guess "wood meets metal" would be more appropriate. I really like the thing. By utilizing a aluminium mini chassis and forend you get the rigidity and less expansion and contraction of wood, but still get the beauty of the hard wood stock.
