a thought i have

well i see a few changes i want to make on this one...it will do the trick it was made to do...the first one to say here i,ll take the old one..will get it as a freebie..as long as you pay the postage;)just a side note...the press stays here

just to be a snoop...how does that work on the bigger cal,s of bullets? the reason i ask...ive seen me almost dump my kitchen table with the big press mounted to it..

I'd be interested in knowing too! I've been pondering one myself. Never known anyone that uses one though.

I have one of those and I have a 30-06, works like a charm. Isn't too hard unless maybe I was making hundreds of bullets!

I bought this exact same one two weeks ago... lagged it to a wall in the basement and will be mounting a press or two... be interested in what you come up with...

I was thining a flat 1/2 24" square square aluminium plate placing it on top and bolting through it and the particle board of the bench... took me forever to get it assembled... tons of bolts with that one...

Every time I use mine I think "gee maybe if I just bolted it to soemthing"LOL.

yes great but no replacement for a proper press well mounted. Hard to get bullets started when you are holding it with two hands and any assisstance you usually give a case mouth in entering the die is impossible not a big deal unless you don't hold the press exactley straight up and down.

I say get one but if you can only have one press get a real one.

I have one of these and I use it now exclusively for decapping. After collecting a few hundred spent casings from recent range outings, Have the hand press with a universal decapper, & appropriate shell holder, and 3 boxes. One box for the pre-decapped, one for the decapped, and one for spent primers you remove. Sit in front of the TV and decap all your brass without ever needing to see what you are doing. Did over 500 .300WM decapping watching the original Pirates of the Carribean.

I initially tried a couple 300WM in it with a set of full length carbide sizers. On long action brass try to stay away from full length dies using the hand press. Pain in the ass :)

For most handgun cartridges I would think you could use full length dies w/o any issues however.

I had one of these break while resizing 30/06. Lee sent new parts no questions asked. Inexpensive and great to use.
 
Yup, they've been digging deep. But that's ok, at least they're talking about a really handy piece of equipment. I have three presses. Guess which one does 85-90% of my work. It's a little slow, but that's OK.
