A Turkish Shotgun on Marstar

If those are anything like the other Turkish shotguns they've had, like the Kral or Tomahawk, then I would stay away. Ive head nothing but bad things about them.

I have actually heard great things about those. Apparently they are very reliable and tend to last fairly long. The price is right, that for sure. A Mossberg 500 persuader may be a better gun ( although they are very similar), but would cost more. A remington 870 would be another choice, but your getting into some expensive territory there. If you want a basic camp gun/bear defence/ camping gun, I would go with a maverick. I too am looking at getting a Maverick soon ( cant decide between an 18.5 or 20" barrel). You may get lucky on the EE and find a Mossberg 500 or a Winchester 1300 defender for the same price as a Maverick though.

Maverick is great value if you are not going to tactical it. The 500 has drilled & tapped receiver, Removable fore end & tang safety, Those are the basic diffs. Look at a grizzly, They are good value but a bit heavier.

Yes, I have a Grizzly I am looking to sell or swap for a 20" maverick security 88. If someone is interested, please PM me. Otherwise, it's up for cash on the EE.

There were a few postings about the poor quality of these as well as some less than persuasive videos. For the price though, the Mavericks or 500's are probably best because of the readily available parts and accessories.

Do a search for tomahawk. Be sure to set the date range far back enough. I was wondering the same thing lately and found a number of posts about the turkish shotguns.

My friend bought the semo auto it was poo it wouldnt cycle light loads it hardly cycled heavy loads and 2nd day out the barrel heat shield and front sight fell off while shooting

Personally, I'm all about commonality. 870s and 500/590s (and even the Win 1300) are as common as dairy farms in Quebec. That means that if there are issues, your access to parts will be easy. If you want accessories, they will be readily available.

More affecting your bottomline, they are also around the price for basic models...

I even see Weatherbys for about the same money. Not as common as 870s, but still more wide spread than some Turkish shotgun.

I briefly considered the Turkish shotguns too, but like Winz indicates, their commonality is an issue. It might be tough getting parts or accessories. Once warranty is up, where would you source replacement parts?

Hmm. I've obtained a Maverick 88 Security for my needs, and am looking to put a heat shield and a shorter buttstock on it. Apparently the buttstock is 100% Mossy 500 compatible. I'm looking for the same shoulder-stock style, just not the same length as stock.
