A Very Interesting 7.62 Enfield

The buttstock profile and s/n range are pretty close to the few pics I have of a proper LB Cno67 sniper.
Did you say you put this together? Or is this how you found it?

Does the buttstock number match receiver number?

No sign of base holes on the receiver left wall?

If this is not a recent assemblage, but built by a target shooter who knew a few things, it is a good catch. The butt is the interesting part. A period Jostam's buttplate. A high rollover comb stock with the pistol grip. The Parker Hale sight works best with a little more comb height than as issued. I've seen pictures of No.4(T) butts on target rifles.

It is very similar to my father's DCRA. It looks as though someone actually sanded and oiled the butt.

My father says that he bought his monte carlo off the maker on the ranges at Conaught and installed it that day. It is VERY rough looking.
