Is there a practical way to add a cheek riser to an A2 stock? It need to be forward enough that it would need a cut out for the charging handle.

They used to come on the Colt Delta models and someone like E&L made them too.
Hard plastic that used the swivel to secure it

Yup, I have one.

I don't know if Colt makes them anymore, or E&L, but you should be able to find something similar from component makers like Magpul, TangoDown, etc.

I have the Colt original cheekriser that came with my Delta. It is a tension fit (two screws clamp it together.) There is no height adjustment whatsoever and the forward or back travel is very limited because it is moulded to fit over the buttstock.

It will only go so far forward before it brings up as a result of the tight fit with the taper on the stock as too much forward fit from the oem prescribed place would interfere with the charging handle anyways.

You can't slide it very far back either because then the tension system won't secure it enough., I would venture to say you have at most 2.5 inches of forward or aft adjustment. No more than that.

Not sure how the aftermarket ones work.

Hope this helps.

Boomer, how close does you nose get to the charging handle, and still have support for the cheek on the rest? I have a near nose to charging handle setup.

Sorry for the delay, vacation and all :)

You can get pretty close! I measured from the charging handle (fully forward of course) to the start of the cheek riser and it is only 3 3/4 " so I am guessing you can get your nose pretty forward.
