A300 Beretta Semi Serial Number

Hi All,

I have a A300 semi as my 'spare' gun and I have been looking for the serial number. I removed the barrel and I found a number on it but does the receiver not have a number as well? Can anybody point me in the right direction please?

Look at the edge of the receiver near the buttstock.
