The A300 is a good gun, made in USA. Cosmetically very plain, they work well for hunting purposes and are good value for this purpose. The A400 is Beretta's flagship auto shotgun, great design, well made, beautifully finished, they are one of the world's finest autoloaders and will last indefinitely, even in competition where they are heavily favoured. You pays your dime and makes your choice. The A300 is built to be a good reliable hunting gun at a competitive price and benefits from the Beretta name and reputation. The A400 is simply built to be the best by one of the oldest and most trusted manufacturers in the world.

Comparing both side by side the a400 is lighter and trimmer. Swings faster and shoulders quicker. Its faster cycling and cleaner shooting. Both are well built. Both great hunting guns. Id pay the extra for the a400 as i have a 12ga and 20ga xplor. The xplor is a 3" a400 and my 12ga a400 will cycle 1/2 oz loads to 2oz loads 100% the a400 takes the more expensive opitma hp chokes.
The a400 also can have the kickoff and gun pod if thats your thing. I dont like it so bought versions lacking these options. Theres more aftermarket for the a400.
That said id be happy with the outlander if i didnt have the a400

I use my A300 for trap and hunting and it's been great. It shoots every kind of crappy shell I have run through it with no hiccups. The only mod I did was Birchwood Casey shell catcher.
And it was only $930 at the Wholesale closeout.
