Hey guys,

I am brand new to this site. I have been hunting with a Remington 870 Super Mag for a few years now. I find it to be an awesome Deer gun. But in the rain/snow i can only seem to get one shot off. I pull the trigger, pump it and it jams. Real pain in the ass when it jams and the geese fly over "almost laughing at me".

I also have a Benelli Nova Ducks Unlimited version that I won at a DU dinner. I find that its a bit clunky and i'm not very fond of it. I bought a Beretta Silver Pigeon and I love using that gun but i'm just to afraid to bang it up in the duck blind. I figure I would stick with Beretta for a Semi but i'm open to suggestions.

So my question for you guys is:

Have any of you shot a Beretta A400 Xtreme? I have heard nothing but good reviews about it. I was debating between the A400 Xtreme and the Remington Versa Max. However a few people have told me that Remington is not even in the same league as the A400.

How do you guys like the A400 vs the Versa Max?

Cheers,

Will

Have shot the A400 Excel, it's everywhere on the skeet/clays field and a pleasure to shoot. Have not witnessed a jam or malfunction.
Pretty sure one has over 40K on the clock. Not a lot for some, but more than enough for many.

I wouldn't hesitate on purchasing a A400 Excel, for that that's worth. Very impressive piece of kit.

The A400 Excel is a trap gun right? Im looking for a gun thats both at home in a blind in the hail/pissing rain and will do just fine when i shoot trap (maybe 10-15 times per summer). Im just skeptical on the Excel for duck hunting.

Thanks for the reply though!

Cheers

I have the A400 Xtreme. Great gun, super solid, not one problem yet. Used it for everything from skeet, trap, phaesant, turkey, etc.

As for the Versa Max, one of the guys I hunt/shoot with has one. I was personally not super impressed with it when I shot it. It didn't feel, or look anywhere as nice as my A400 IMHO.

Hope this helps.

A400 FTW!

I've had both guns u r debating within the past year.... Both are slightly heavy but perform flawlessly... Remington slightly bulkier but still smooth... I ended up with a Vinci and super Vinci but still have an a400 xplor unico which is also very nice...pm me if u need additional info... My a400 has seen only 75 target loads and is mint if ur interested (surplus to my needs) I would even part with the super as its black and I prefer camo... Anyways like I said feel free to pm me if needed
