Anyone know the production numbers on these? I'm having a heck of a time finding one.

I had an A5 light 12 that I just loved and I would think that 3" steel for waterfowl would be even better.

I couldnt tell you the production numbers, but do know they they show up in in the EE from time to time.
Lots of A-5 lites and while they are not un-obtainium the three inch magnums do make an appearance as well.
That hairlipped trout fellow knows more about them than I...well I like them , but dont know much more than that.
This crazy Fench Canadian bought the one I had and it shot well for me ..2-3/4'' and all and it shoots great for him too.
The searching is the fun part.
Finding one is exciting and shooting it after obtaining the 3'' is even more fun.

Wartchit yew yew-yun tug.
Send the spawnerzs after yewse.

I had a beee yewty I sold last year.

I do know ware there is an A-5 Light with factory Mawd choke in 2 3/4" that
mite be up fur sale.

I have 3" A-5 that I bought years ago. IIRC made ca. 1960. Plain, long barrel. Not a steel shot gun.
Just out of curiosity, I tested it with Winchester 3" single O buckshot. At 50y, it will reliably put 7 or more pellets in a dinner plate sized group.

Ugh. Want.

I think there are still new production barrels around that are rated for steel shot which is what has me all hot and bothered. Buckshot would be it's #3 purpose after blasting clays.

It is my understanding that a recent production Japanese barrel must be fitted to a vintage Belgian made gun.

I had a 3" magnum A5,. Sold it here a couple years ago, mostly because it was vent rib barrel with a fixed full choke, which I had no use for.

No fitting involved when installing a Japanese Barrel on a Belgian gun. I just had a 30” Full choked Japanese Barrel cut down to 26” and Colonial choke tubes fitted. To be used on a 1960 Magnum.

1969 production. 3" Mangum, 28" Hastings barrel with chokes...my baby.

I just scored a factory original '93 Magnum Stalker in near mint condition, first one I've ever come across in Canada and I've looked for years. I've seen many Mags refitted with aftermarket synthetic stocks, but the original Stalkers had parkerized receivers, barrels and trigger guards from factory along with the synthetic stocks. Now the wait for it to arrive.

Can I borrow your Lucky Horseshoe? It took me probably 6 or 7 years to find my Auto 5 Three Shot and have been looking the same amount of time or longer for an original Stalker. Congrats on your find.

Got a top end magnum A-5 ( 1967 IIRC) for 350 $ about 10 years back. The choke was opened up to run steel shot... which in some folks minds ruins it...but my Son has been Hammering Canadian Geese for about 9 years now. So... I'd say it's got a new lease on life...doing it's job so to speak.
I only put about a box of shells through it... I acquired it because they are a unique and cool gun... oozes Panache

Hey. I resemble that remark.

2 3/4" is fine for decoying and even some pass shooting ducks.

Congrats on the find, always wanted an original auto 5 stalker, but have never seen one in person.

Anyone have any idea where to find a 70's vintage A5 magnum wood stock/forend? Checked brownells, numrich has some but I'm not sure if the forend is for the magnum version, and it is a gift that I'm hoping will need minimal fitting..any leads would be appreciated!
