It is my understanding that a recent production Japanese barrel must be fitted to a vintage Belgian made gun.

My Japanese barrel fits my Belgian receiver without problem. But that's not saying that everyone else will have that luck.

Watch the EE and move and quickly is my advice. Mine needs a rebluing and came with the improved cylinder choke seized in and an aftermarket synthetic stock set. No it isn't a stalker. It patterns closer to a light modified with winchester xpert and kent 2's and 3's. I think I will lug it for my next duck hunt.
If I had a light 12 or standard 12 particularly a Japanese made one I wouldn't sweat not having 3" capabilities for steel. I've been shooting a 20 gauge pretty much 80% of the time for the last 4 years. If 1 1/16 to 1 1/4 oz of steel won't kill it I should let them get closer anyway.
