This very well could be a stupid question, but I don't care. I am a bit out of the loop having been in Canada now for only 4 days (I was in Afghanistan for 7 months)

Are AA12's legal in Canada? Does anyone know if they are being sold anywhere?

No it wouldn't. They were made long after Autos were no longer available for sale in Canada. Not only that the AA12 fires from an open bolt. Depending on the specifics of the actual design it would likely need major changes before RCMP techs would give it a pass.

They are not prohibited by name. But I think they are a variant of the USAS 12 or at least close enough to be deemed a variant by the RCMP
 
Is there a civvy variant available under restricted or non restricted provisions? Yes I know a full auto shotgun falls under 12.2, as I previously stated (and it appears you overlooked it) I have been out of the country for quite some time. I am looking for clarification is all.

To be blunt you are never going to own an AA12 in Canada legally. Semi-auto or not. It doesn't matter if you have 12.2 or any other type of grandfathered license. It's unavailable for many reasons, the company doesn't make a S/A version and even if they did they would need to make major changes before RCMP techs would let it into the country. Due to the design I doubt the BATFE would let it be sold in the US either. They demanded changes to newly made semi-auto Mac pistols years ago for the same reason they would likely block civi sale of the AA12.
