I've been trying to remove the AAC flash hider off my ACR DMR but I've had no luck whatsoever.

I've tried soaking it in soapy water for 24 hours and using heat but it won't budge.

Is there anybody on Ottawa area that can help me remove it?

You'll probably need a barrel vice or barrel extension block (Geissele Reaction Rod)

It's probably got rockset on it, and it'll need a solid mounting to break the thread locker.

I have one that i cannot remove. Evem took it to a local armourer that cant remove it with the tools made for it. Some are a ##### and a half. Be careful with a reaction rod. After not being able to get it with the barrel vise i went to a magpul bev block and spun the barrel out of the extension. Aac flash hider is still on there.

AAC's own installation instruction requires rocksett - the only thing to dissolve Rocksett is water. Just water, not soapy water.

Think about this, it is supposed to stay so that a dirty suppressor can be removed.

Heat is not going to do anything to rocksett because it can go up to 1000 deg., unless you have a torch.

Well this flash hider is real pain in the ass... I contacted Gravel Agency to see what I can do to get it off.

I broke a 22mm wrench trying to take it off... Im so angry right now....

I heard, as a rumor, so this is NOT real gunsmithing advice...

Hydrogen Peroxide breaks up Rocksett faster, higher concentration the better. Maybe a gunny's-tale? I dunno.

Again I heard this as a rumor, so this is NOT real gunsmithing advice...

Take it easy on the Wheaties in the morning and you won't break 22mm wrenches anymore. Also, how is the barrel after that much torque?!?
