ABLR grain weight for 6.5 creedmoor

The heavier the bullet the better for bucking wind. The best place to find the answer is on the Nosler forum. Maybe check the required twist rate for the bullets and compare that to your rifle. Cheers

129, 142, 150 in the creedmoor w 22 inch barrel, I could use some advice? Does it matter much for hunting to 300m?
To paraphrase Mark of Mark & Sam AfterWork:
Under 500 yards or so, velocity beats higher weight/high BC in terms of the flattest possible trajectory.

Wind drift… maybe a slight advantage with higher weight. Pretty negligible and in my last 15 years of hunting I can’t remember holding for wind.
Energy gets talked about a lot. I’m a believer in holes in vital organs, not hoping my bullet acts like a hammer and “knocks it down”.
If it were me I’d go with the 129 if they were all readily available but wouldn’t lose too much sleep either way.

Inside 300 yards it won't matter too much either way

All three weights will expand well past 300 yards. You could expect the heavier bullets and their lower speeds to have slightly smaller would channels, and penetrate a bit deeper. I wouldn't classify an ABLR as a "tough" bullet due to its long range / low speed expanding design, but it will do well on almost any shot presentation for even large game like moose. I reload the 129 ABLR to only 2580 fps for a friend's teenage son who has proved that bullet is deadly in the field on all sizes of game

I've played with the 150 ABLR in my 6.5cm at the range, it's a decent shooting bullet. My rifle has a longer magazine box and I can seat them out well past the typical seating depth

Thank you very much, my son will be shooting this rifle, I will try one of the lighter two choices, also interested in the accubond, ttsx, CX. I'll start putting some rounds through it to see what it likes.
