I have to remove the recoil pad on a browning Abolt Medallion so that I can Refinish the stock. (long Story I will post later). It appears as though the $*$*&%*(&(*& pad is GLUED on. How can I remove it? Also, What product is best to remove the (&^(%*#$*&$^_(* Plastic Finish?

Recoil Pad

The recoil pad should be held on with two screws, but it is sometimes hard to find the holes in factory installed pads they are small slits and hard to see. If you put a small amount of grease on the tip of a large Philip's screw driver and run it over the top and bottom of the pad about 1 to 11/4 from each end you should find the holes. Also some of the Brownings have a plastic finish that is a "#####" to remove, just don't get impatient, I scrounged some commercial stripper from a furniture dip and strip place.
