Abolt vs Abolt 11

The main difference is the design of the actual bolt itself. The original A-Bolt used a separate gas stop behind the bolt head while the A-Bolt2 uses the entire bolt sleeve as the gas stop. The design of the bolt sleeve in the "2" also provides better "anti-bind" features.

The original A BOLT is MASSIVE. Very beefy. A Bolt II is shaved down alot. The action of my BBR Abolt is like silk and would prefer it to the Abolt II. They are both awesome designs .

"BBR Abolt".....no such thing....I think you might be confusing the original A Bolt with the BBR...whole other animal....

BBR has 9 lugs...A-Bolts have 3
I much prefer the Abolt I to the II, it's far smoother than that sleeved version...
I'd much rather have a BBR though

The BBR (Browning Bolt Rifle) was made from whenever Browning stopped using the FN and Sako actions (mid 70's??) until the original A-Bolt was introduced about 1985. It has 9 locking lugs like a Weatherby Mark V and a large diameter bolt. The receiver walls are very thick as there are no raceways as the lugs are the same diameter as the bolt. This makes the action quite heavy and rigid. The BBR looks a lot like an A-Bolt with the same tang safety, bolt handle shape, same bolt release, flats on the receiver and removeable mag box attached to the floorplate. The A-Bolt is a 3 lug bolt with a smaller body diameter and other differences.
