Hello

just want to buy a good used press to start reloading , and foun a RCBS 4X4 , it like turret type but you need to turn

the shell plate by hand , I know to change the plate may pricy but I only have 2-3 reloading caliber and the saller already has those.

is it reliable? I do not care about the efficiency , just do not want to repair some thing every day . I am novice.

thank you , here is the picture for manual

I have one and use it for over 20 years. I use it for more than ten caliber. It is reliable just need regular maintenance and care. The come with auto primer system sucks and I removed it and use hand prime instead. The most easy worn out parts are the auto index nylon bearing. The machine is first generation auto index with 4 stations, you can size, prime, powder and seat bullet at the same time. You don’t need to hand turn the plate. For parts, you should still able to get it direct from RCBS support as the machine has life time warranty. You also need a heavy bench to mount it as it is very heavy.

tanks. but I found one is earlier then yours, it do not have indexing for auto turn the shell plate , so , by hand .

is it manageable for beginner?

Ok for beginner. Take time to learn than using a single stage press. Compare to auto index model, the disadvantage is only speed. If you decide to get the machine, get the manual as well.

My first press was a Dillon 550. Easy to use and reliable. If you have the money, get a quality press.

I do about 8-10k of 9mm, .223, and .308 on mine a year.
