I have a gen 1 from the very first pre-order. The only issues it's ever had was with some old reloads that I must have neck sized only, they wouldn't chamber and I learned from a wise old man who also posts on here how to "mortar" your AR and how to do it properly without breaking anything.
Aside from that, it didn't much care for the ammo he put through, your standard NATO stuff, and I want to say some south african? (but I think that is garbage stuff in any rifle if my memory doesn't fail me).
Stock aside from trigger, charging handle, and the usual grip/stock upgrade.
It's been an excellent rifle. Heavy, begging for a good barrel, but has run like a well lubed oiled machine.
I did handle a brand new one at Barton's a few weeks ago, man they shed a lot of weight off of them. The handguard has to be at least half the weight and thickness, and it's slimmed down all over. The new port cover looks like a piece of plastic? super cheap looking. My only gripe about that.
If I were buying it to hunt, a new generation one would be it, if it's straight target shooting, the extra weight is nice.
