Just wrapped up my last year of trade school for HET and came home to the missus sitting in the chair, gave her a quick kiss and started chatting about school and work etc etc... She passingly mentioned "oh I got you a present" but the conversation was drifting off so many topics I quickly forgot about her mentioning it....

A short while later I was having a peek out the window and my foot struck a large box in bright orange camo wrapping paper with a card attached to it...

Now I'm not a wealthy person, things were pretty tight getting thru trade school...
The missus works a 7-4 mediocre office job and has been floating the bills for the last 8 weeks so to say she could afford to buy anything that would fill the average rifle size shipping box would leave even myself (the banker) skeptical....

Needless to say I was beyond shocked when I tore thru the wrapping paper and found an allmost empty box save for a few Allan keys and and a few pamphlets written in German...

This began the "no 5/):$: way?..." Really?... Ummmm... No 5:$;7, way... Where is it?

She walked back into the gun room and came out with a large soft case, sheepishly admitting that she couldent figure out how to take the rifle down to get it back into the box...

Folks.... I can't get the 5$17 eating grin off my face at the moment... Utterly speechless.
Sorry for the bad pictures but I'll fix that on my first range trip.

Wow, great looking gun. Made me want one until I saw the price. I'm going for my journeyman in August so a man can dream haha.

Been down that road before myself and I'll tell you right now you have a keeper there, and I'm not just talking about that shootin' iron. I'm happy for both of you.

Congrats on your license to learn, and more on topic, I think you got a keeper. Looks like she has good taste in firearms. Don't take her for granted.

Does she have a sister? :) Wait...I've been happily married for 19 years, 7 months...not on the market anymore. :)

I can honestly say...as fine a rifle as that is...I have a hunch you have something finer in that woman of yours. Get a ring on her finger, she sounds like a gem.

Your girl bought you a Sauer 202 ???

Thats awesome man. Obviously she loves you. A good man always has a great woman supporting him. Treat her well and don't mess it up !! Best of luck.

Nice one. And well done on the HET. Did you aquire Inter-Provincial Seal :: NOC 7312?

Anyhow I think it's great that the bird knew what you wanted. My bird doesn't have any idea about guns.

Now....................how about something for the thoughtful lady of the house ....

Nice, What caliber? Every other rifle you buy from now on will feel like cheap junk. I got my first sauer (which I still own) and I have never been satisfied with any other rifle I have bought.

Yup I wrote my provincial and interprovincial off hiway, already did my on road and passed both... Should have grades back by mid next week.... Bit nervous... Off road is horrible compared to on road, not that the actual theory is hard but that silly AIT test seems to test your patience rather than understanding.

Rifle is a 202 classic with the elegance bolt handle in 30-06, not super fancy lumber wich is what I was wanting so I would feel less guilty when I scratched it or bumped it while hunting... Funny... I was thinking this would feel a lot more Mauser'ish and handle like a tank, quite the contrary actually, it is polished and refined and almost dainty yet every piece is functional and robust where it needs to be.... And that set trigger is just "ooo'la'la"... Quite impressive.... Haha...

Does sauer make engagement rings for women? ;)
