AC42 P38 359 Eagle stamped

I am considering a purchase of a AC42 P38. NO case, but it has all the 359 eagle stamps, have not confirmed the internals but from what I have seen it appears all original and in VG + condition. With a 2 digit one letter serial # **e
Can anyone give me a ball park appraisel from low end Good to excellent on a piece like this. The AC's are not in my price book.

I've read that the e might mean somthing on the serial # , it's * * e

I"m not a military collector so looking for some input thanks

The 'e' is a letter suffix. German pistols/rifles were made in blocks of 10,000 and marked with the year of production and during the mid-late war with two digits representing the year of production (43 = 1943). After the first block of 10,000 (no letter suffix block) they started with a letter block, moving from a - b - c - etc. Roughly, most factories produced 10,000 pieces per month, so an 'e' would roughly be May production of 1943. There are more specific resources which pin down letter blocks down to 1-6 weeks (depending on paperwork which survived the war).

For example
0001-9999
0001-9999 a
0001-9999 b

AC42 are still high quality pieces. Some of the last exceptionally finished P38s.
Might even be early enough for a matching mag possibilty. You'd have to do more reseach but I think that stopped around c block, but don't quote me.
