looking to see if anyone knows at what range the ar10 match rifle starts to loose its accuracy. Does barrel length, type of loads make a big diff. ?Appreciate your input, thinking of purchasing for long range stuff asap.

cheers

I have shot mine out to 1000m. I think it is more a function of the cartridge than the launch platform in this case. I have used Lapua 170gr Lockbase to good effect in handloads, all sub MOA. If your interest is longer range, then an examination of the cartridge you want to use might be in order. I have two AR10s and would not trade them for the world. I love them....

I too have shot mine to 1100m and was shooting with 168gr HPBT match handloads with no problems. I have an AR10T with the longer barrel though.

I love mine. wish it wasn't restricted though :(

When I shot my original Sudanese AR 10 @ 600 yds with 7.62 NATO issue IVI BALL, Iron sights and a MATCH set trigger, I got a 5 shot group you could cover with an 8 1/2" X11" piece of paper. The 168 Gr HPBT Match was NOT as accurate.

At the distant ranges, the sights and the trigger probably are more important than the barrel ... and the new AR 10's probably need a trigger job to extract the best accuracy.
