I am looking to get a carbine to shoot 9mm for range plinking. I'd like something capable of hitting milk jugs at 100yrds consistently assuming of course the shooter does his part.

1) Hi Point - 9mm Carbine
2) kel tech sub 2000
or any other suggestions

Which one will do the job for the best price. My budget is tight and I'm not looking to add anything to the gun other than perhaps a red dot sight but aperture sights are fine. So if you were on a tight budget which would you choose.

Sorry for the newbie questions but as far as this category of firearm I am a newb and I appreciate any advice you have.

Berretta is a very fine choice and very capable of hitting apples at 100 all day long. You can even turn it into a non restricted by adding a longer barrel.

the beretta is also 1000 bucks the sub2k and hi point are 600 & 350, supstantially lower priced. For 1000 you could get a jr carbine, which i think would be the better choice over the beretta, however i've never shot the jr so i have no idea how they perform.

Yup, Beretta CX4 would be my choice. Very accurate and fun to shoot!

the new JR's work well and are plenty accurate. Take a look at one. Its priced higher then the pug fugly hipoint and the fisher price keltec, but they are well built and all metal.

Out of the listed guns, SUB 2000 takes my vote.. lightest one.. surprisingly accurate up to 100m...
