I am considering purchasing a Sako 85 Varmint and curious if anyone knows how accurate it is, or can give their opinion on it.

The gun only as good as the fellow squeezing the trigger. I have a 75 Varmint in 25-06 that is truly 1/2 moa at 300 yards.
What caliber are you looking at? Do you plan to hand load for it? FS

Lets put it this way, my Sako m75ss 22-250 I bought recently off a fellow member shoots 0.371"groups (outside-outside) with factory Winchester 40gr cheap ammo. Now wait till my reloads with 55gr.

I have no doubt a Sako m85 Varmint will be a shooter. There was a CGNmember that had a Sako m75 Varmint 22-250 listed in the EE posting his groupings.

I wanted to buy one of these, but all I could get past my wife was a Remington VSF Desert Tan! That was a stuggle to even convince her of that! It will shoot, It's a Sako!

I just bought a Sako 85 Gray Wolf 22-250 in late Jan of this year it only has a 21" barrel so I had to change my loads from my old 26" Ruger M77 that I have had for years.

I was sighting the load in, you can see the climb in the bullets then I shot the 4 shot group without adjusting the scope anymore the increment lines are 1" the muzzle velocity is appr 3700fps.

I'd say they shoot pretty good... :D
