Accuracy question

Varget and RL15 are about the same burn rate, slower burning than IMR 3031, which is better suited to the 30-30. IMR 4064 would work good too, but Varget & RL15 are more temperature insensitive than IMR powders, which is good IMO, especially for hunting applications.

A longer barrel can give you smaller groups at long ranges, only by virtue of the fact that you may be getting more velocity from it, ergo shooting faster and flatter, and bucking the wind somewhat better.

I've seen some awful good groups from 18-22" barrels...

Dam good info here. Thanks. Just what I needed

Will probably go the IMR route (4064) simply because I live up north and can access that easiest.

In the meantime, I'll shoot what I have;)
