Hey, I was wondering what is suppose to be the grouping in general for shotgun that shot slug (cheap ones) at 50 meters, 100 and 200 meter.
Is the slug letal at 200 meters (for dear hunting)?

Here is a pic of the grouping of my friend (his first time ever shooting). firearm Grizzly mag, 12.5 ", ammo: slugger 2"3/4 Federal 5 rounds. distance: 50 meters

I know its not zeroed, that why I went to the shooting range.

I have a mossberg 535ats with a 24" rifle barrel. 50 yards 1 hole all day long. 100 yards 2" group for 5 shots. 150 ysards 4" group. At 200 my sight covered the target and my eyes aren't good enuf for open sites that far. A 1oz slug is very lethal at 150 and 200 if placed correctly. I've found rio star 1oz and brenneke gold 3" mags to be the most accurate out of my guns. The rios can be shot thru rifled or smoothbores

every shotgun is different and will shoot different types of ammo diferently. There is no standard for slug accuracy, or shot patterns. You will need to try different ammo and if possible choke tubes to find what your shotgun likes best. Most foster (rifled)slugs will not be lethal or accurate to 200m, they are not spin stabalized and have a horrible ballistic coeffecient. This means they will lose velocity and drop very fast compared to a rifle. There are a few better designs out there like the Federal tru-ball, and Winchester Rackmaster slugs, and alot of people claim more consistent accuracy with Winchester Super X power point slugs as well. You will jut have to try as many different types as you can until you find something that works well.
