I am looking for an accurate 22 that could be used by both my son who is 10 and myself. So I would like an adjustable stock for the length of pull and I would like it to be accurate as it is impossible to learn accuracy with an inaccurate plinker. Suggestions appreciated.

I've got a Ruger 10/22 takedown (check out on youtube if you don't know which one) which I love.
I think most people will say the Ruger is a great "first" rifle to own but fun at any age. Great quality, super easy to shoot, ammo is cheap..hard to go wrong.
If you get a regular rugar I know there are different stocks that you can mod/buy, but you'll be paying a lot more if you're buying a new stock just so it's adjustable.
I suggest checking out a lot of youtube videos you'll see tons of people who've modded their own so you can get an idea of what might work for you.

597 VTR if you can find one. If you can't, you can get pick up a 597 (the heavy barrels are REALLY accurate) and buy an AA stock for it. Tons of 10/22 options as well.

If you are mostly shooting off the bench with the kids the SR-22 has a collapsible stock and a medium heavy barrel which is quite accurate. But it would be too heavy for kids to shoot offhand with

Yeah I would get a 10/22 or 10/22 TD and get like a tapco, ATI, Blackhawk Axiom stock. Unfortunately not many options of adjustable LOP stocks without a pistol grip.

SR22 are nice but the kit is heavy. I don't have the .750 16" barrel but I got a 8.5" 920 and I'm sure it would be about the same weight or less. I weighed mine without the carbine stock and including the full top and bottom rail and it was 2lbs 11oz, the stock and buffer tube would put it over 3lbs. With a optic and sights the gun without a mag, the rifle was over 7lbs.
