Accurate ammo for 10/22

I have a stock 10/22, the barrel is floated but the accuracy is crap. Which ammo do you guys recommend for 10/22's ?

Huh, I have a stock 10/22 and it is a tack-driver with common Winchester Wildcat ammo.

You really need to try a bunch of different types.

Best bet is to go down to Wholesale Sports or whatever you have in your area, and buy a box of each kind they have.

Try them all. You'd be surprised how much better some ammo is in your guns!

I used to use Dynapoints from Walmart, and they were good, but found that Winchester Power Points work the best in my 10/22.

For plinking ammo I always find that Winchester powerpoints do real good. IMHO the most accurate high velocity ammo. Federal Champion also works well for me.

But for the best accuracy out of my GM barrel its Lapua super-club.

Here are a couple of groups I shot yesterday with Lapua super-club with the GM barrel on my 10.22. Not great groups but not bad either.

I use Rem Yellow Jackets in my 10/22 with some pretty good results!

the most I've heard of being accurate (for hunting) is MiniMag. - for a 10/22 that is.
If you're just shooting @ paper, and you don't mind spending the money, Lapua, Norma -RWS are pretty good

The consensus seems to be that there is no such thing as the best ammo because different guns seem to prefer different ammo even though they are the same model. Had this same chat with my range buddies and then with Barry Jensen at Bits of Pieces. I am soon going into Reliable Gun and buy all the different 22lr I can get and then I will know for sure for my 1022. Then I will go in and buy lots of it.

mine eats anything, but then again, it's 9 years old.

Federal and winchester dynapoint bulk packs work very well, the latter being more accurate, also in my 22/45.

Mine likes PMC Zappers, or CCi Velocitors but they're a bit spending for plinking. For extended range sessions on a budget I use Winchester SuperX plated Dynapoints. I've had many jams using the Federal Champion bluk pack with my 10/22T.

When mine was stock it loved mini mags.

Actually it loved almost anything cci. Blaser's, stingers, velocitors, all good.

With my GM barrel the best bet has been pmc match rifle. It will shoot velocitors and blasers pretty good too.
