Looking for a .22LR round that is very accurate at 25-50yds through a stock 597. Any 597 owners find a brand that shoots very well? Looking to have a shoot with some 10/22 owners and hoping to find something to give them a run for the money.:)

Well I definately wouldn't rate T22 as beeing target grade, but I have had one gun that shot this ammo allright. I don't have a 597, but some ammo that has always worked consistantly well for me is Winchester powerpoints, Lapua SC, Eley Match EPS/Tenex, and for the price the bulk federal stuff does not to bad :)

i find cci blazers to be the best of the bulk cheapo's.....accurate and reliable in my RUGERS, not sure how they will work in that substandard remington :)

Believe it or not my 597 shoots accurately using Thunderbolts. I get a group of 1/2 - 3/4 inch at 50 yds, mind you I am not a good rifle shooter.

Anything Rem is good as long as you don't mind cleaning your gun every 20 minutes:p . I've found american eagle's pretty good, I mostly shoot CCI mini-mags. They are so far IMO the best I've tried, and I've tried about 12 different kinds since I bought my 597 back in Sept 06.The CCI stuff burns way cleaner then anything else I tried to date.Check out rimfirecentral.com foe lots of tips, tricks, and opinions on the 597.

My tightest groups have been with CCI mini mags. The CCI Blazers and Winchester T22s are close though, and they cycle well. I second checking rimfirecentral.com.

I get great accuracy from the bulk federals. Funny enough, remington ammo does not shoot to well out of my Rem597. Weird eh?

Ditto. Federal Bulk packs are 'dead' on. Little critters never stand a chance. :)
