accurate bolt action, what should I get?

the CZ452 and walter kkj are mentioned enough to raise an eyebrow, I thank you all for all the quick replies, I'll keep an eye out for all the models that have been mentioned in this thread.

The semi auto playtime was fun but now its time to get down to business

I hear you, did the 10/22 thing for years, folding stock, hi cap mags, laser dot, etc. It was a lot of fun but then I got hooked on the accuracy bug and it required a different rig.

My choice was a Kimber Classic but it a bit over your budget so I would have to second the CZ rifles. Just make sure you get good optics, the gun will never shoot better than the scope will allow.

The CZ/Brnos are hard to beat for the price. They are very consistent from one to the next also - so it's less likely you'll encounter a bad one.
The KKJ is a fine rifle . They were used by many for the Cdn sporting rifle competition. Easily on par with CIL/Anschutz 190. There is a KKJ for sale locally. Belongs to a colleague who frequents gunshows. PM me your email and I'll put you in touch if you wish.
Cheers
