I recently ordered a Chiappa Spencer carbine in 56-50. While waiting on delivery, I accumulated Star-Line brass and an Accurate DC aluminum block bullet mould - 51-350S which arrived this week after a very short wait time.

It's a little gem, almost too pretty to use!

I'm on the CasCity forum which has a Spencer Shooting Society list. I've learned a lot from these guys about what works and doesn't re: Spencers; repros and originals. I had on hand a Rapine aluminum SC 350 mould, but was advised to get the Accurate product and avoid using my Lyman 515141 as having a small diameter meplat, in addition to being heavy for the calibre.

The 51-350S has a 1/4" meplat to facilitate safety when loading rds into the tube magazine. The meplat on the Rapine product measures .239, still pretty wide.

The Accurate mould has a single wide grease groove, the Rapine two narrower grooves, one wider than the other. We'll see which performs better in the Spencer.

My Shiloh 50-70s like the 350 Rapine and I think will shoot the 51-350S as well.

Oh, I will! I've moved heaven and earth to track one of these carbines this side of the DMZ, locate brass and get a mould. I called RCBS direct to get the dies as all I got was the run around from Canadian dealers (5-6 week wait) or an offer of Lyman dies which i was warned not to buy for the calibre.

Now I find out that my RCBS DC handles will not accommodate the blocks! I need RCBS or Lee 6 cavity handles. Lee handles are recommended for lightness and cheaper than RCBS.

If I had read this in the am, my screen would be sprayed with coffee .... :>)

Thanks for the offer, but I don't know if I have the balls to show up at a CAS match with pink ammo, but I have to concede the "Bling!" factor!

I have a 1916 vintage Colt 1911 with a barrel that is significantly oversize. I found a nice 230grain .45 bullet in the Accurate Moulds catalogue and ordered a mould with the request that it be cut oversized to drop the bullets at .4545"-.455". The mould I received does exactly what I asked for. I run them through the .454" sizer and it just barely cleans up the whole bearing surface. I got that mould and all of a sudden, that Colt would shoot.
